PSSSB Group D Exam 2026 on 25 October: Admit Card Out, Postponement Notice Is Fake

The Subordinate Services Selection Board, Punjab (PSSSB) will hold the written exam for Group D posts (Advertisement No. 04 of 2026) on 25 October 2026, as scheduled. Roll numbers and admit cards are out.
Postponement notice on WhatsApp is fake
On 22 October 2026 PSSSB issued a public notice saying that some mischievous elements were circulating a fake public notice on WhatsApp and other media claiming the exam had been postponed. The Board has made it clear that the exam for the 2,098 Group D posts will be held on the fixed date and time. Some job websites have also reported a new date of 15 November 2026; that is the fake notice. Rely only on sssb.punjab.gov.in.

The number of posts went up to 2,098 through a corrigendum dated 17 September 2026, which added posts requested by the Deputy Commissioners of Fatehgarh Sahib and SAS Nagar and extended the last date from 17 to 21 September 2026.

The rest are smaller numbers of Sewadar, Chowkidar, Safai Sewak, Mali, Cook, Fisherman and attendant posts across other departments and districts. Category-wise, 711 posts are General, 230 SC (M&B), 181 SC (R&O), 186 BC and 166 EWS, with the remaining posts for ex-servicemen, sportspersons, persons with disabilities and freedom fighters' dependents.
How to download the admit card
- Go to sssb.punjab.gov.in and open the Group D (Advt. No. 04 of 2026) admit card link on the home page.
- The link opens the exam agency's portal. Log in with your registration details.
- Download and print the e-admit card. Check your name, photo, roll number and exam centre.
Carry the printed admit card and an original photo ID to the centre, and reach well before the reporting time printed on it. PSSSB has also issued a separate notice for candidates who need a scribe.
Exam pattern
The paper starts with a qualifying Punjabi section; only those who pass it are ranked on the main section of general knowledge, Punjab GK, reasoning, basic maths and English. A wrong answer in the main section costs a quarter mark. See the full PSSSB Group D exam pattern and syllabus.
